Based on the original DOD Overdrive Preamp and 250, the Over Sound 350+ is a clean boost, blues overdrive and hard-clipping OD all in one. From beautiful, chiming Strat tones, to gorgeous lightly crunching blue tube tonal bliss, on to blistering distortion to release the humbucking kraken on your favorite rock bashers.

Finding myself once again in the position of needing an overdrive or distortion or fuzz pedal for a new rig, I spent a few hundred bucks trying out some of the “coolest” new pedals and recreations of classics and was rather non-plussed by my efforts. So, I started digging through recordings and history and designs and schematics and you might have been down this rabbit hole. I spent about a month comparing sounds and types of overdrives and then about a month listening to various component options through many of the well known video channels. Lou Bahor and I studied and selected schematics and options and with Jeff Shattuck offering his valuable insight, we eventually landed on a heavily modified circuit that began as something very close to the original DOD Overdrive Preamp. The three of us then got together and spent a weekend working it all out, auditioning various resistors, capacitors, op-amps and diode arrangements with our own ears and basically being blown away by what we eventually created. – C Bret Campbell

The DOD overdrive preamp was only available for a couple years in the seventies but the nearly identical circuit became the Overdrive 250 circa 1979. The MXR distortion plus and Ross distortion pedals are extremely similar – as are many other favorites of the guitar community. We used elements from many of them and our ears really liked the op-amp, led drivers, and clipping diodes we choose.
